I know December doesn't technically start until Thursday, but what the hey. :P
  1. Garden of Shadows Secret Santa gift. I have no idea what I'm going to make and as I told a few people, I am really nervous about it due to the prestigiousness of the person I have to make for. Should probably try to come up with at least one idea before the end of the week. I definitely need to have the gift completed for the 22nd, because life will be insane in the week following.
  2. Publish Royal Purple chapter 2. I have it written. I just need to shoot the scenes for it. Which requires a whole other to-do list in itself. Not posting it here, wouldn't want to reveal anymore spoilers than I already have. ;) But having that written down somewhere for all to see will make more apt to keep to that commitment.
  3. Finish writing chapter 3. Which is proving to be difficult. If I keep it how it is now, I can throw the whole short story idea out the window - this is going to be a much longer story that I had first anticipated.
  4. Finish reading STHWC. Which has been on my ever-growing to-read list for about a year now. :P (Speaking of which, it's been over a year since I 'returned' to the community. :D ).
And now the real-life stuff )

Disclaimer: I am going to be writing about a Christian camp here. If you don't want to read it, you don't have to read it. This is my personal journal.

CAMP! )

CAMP starts today! Tonight, actually, at 7 pm, but you know. :P

My church camp is pretty strange and not at all like what you're thinking. We call it "family camp" because it runs programs for all ages all at once. So there are conferences for the adults, activities for preschoolers, activities for elementary kids, and activities/conferences for the teens & young adults all going at once on different parts of the campground. The campground itself consists mostly of cottages and/or vacant lots for tents and trailers, as opposed to cabins. So we prepare our own meals as a family and take care of our own beds as a family, but we are doing activities as a church during the day (and, for the youth, until midnight. We usually do a literal "Timmies Run" every night. That is a joke you probably won't get if you don't understand a canadian's devotion to Tim Horton's. (Mmm, Iced Cappucinos :D ) Every evening we meet in the tabernacle for an evening service, so that's kind of when the whole church comes together. We don't have a ton of people there, usually around 200 or so, but we have a lot of fun and try to get to know everyone as best we can. I've been going to this camp yearly since I was born (there are pictures of 9-month-old me in a stroller at camp), and I've only missed one year, (last year, due to the HSC). This is pretty much the hilight of the year for me and is better than Christmas, as far as I'm concerned. ;)

Anyways, sims wise I won't be doing much. While I am taking my laptop, there is no internet access on the camp ground so I won't be going on any downloading sprees or keeping in touch with you. I will be back either Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon, depending on how insane life is when I get back. I have plans to participate in the latest [livejournal.com profile] maxis_taste dare, but it kind of turned into a mini story, so I will likely end up tweaking my original idea. If I can get enough planned for that, I might actually find myself writing for sims again, since premade stories seem to be really "in" right now. Neither the Gleeks nor the Gratiaes interested me as much as the Desjardines did and I'm still disappointed that I didn't get that backed-up properly. I might find myself continuing them if I get bored.

I also have a few CC projects I'd like to work on, and if I get time at CAMP I might do that. I have a ton of unfinished projects sitting in my CC-creations folder, many of which will likely never see the light of day. :P (speaking of which, care to check out my CiJ Secret Santa gift for Rurouni-Idoru? )

Anyways, have a great week everyone, don't post too much for me to miss out on while I'm gone!

I got to Canada about three weeks ago, but Grandpa has been on dial up until a couple of days ago, so I haven't accomplished anything. Now that I have hi-speed working I should be able to get caught up on more reading. I know I've been saying that for ages, but really and truly I'm serious now, especially since I have the Christmas shopping done.

Living with my Grandparents has been interesting. Grandma is all there mentally, but physically she has zero mobility, so for the past few years Grandpa has had to learn to cook. I am willing to help them out whenever I can, but Grandpa is one of those "if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself" so I try to get started on the Spaghetti or whatever and eventually I end up giving up and letting him cook, because I end up standing there watching him do it. :P

I still don't have a job, so consequently I have about $100 to my name at the moment, and goodness knows how long I will have to try to make that last. I had wanted to go to California in March, (I have enough frequent flyer points for a free trip down there) but March is when this Great Lakes Beach Town starts hiring for the season. :P I'm not asking for much - I'd be glad to go back to McDonalds or to Tim Horton's or anything, really. Ah, well, I'm not going hungry or anything. For pensioners, my Grandparents are pretty well-off. Frugal, but very generous, too.

Anyways, you guys probably didn't need to know all that random stuff, so since I don't have anything sims to share, I'm going to sign off.

Well, I have an English exam tomorrow. Need I say more? If I can find anything to keep me from studying, by golly I'll do it.

So last night it was this. )

I guess I go back to English stuff now...
