I know December doesn't technically start until Thursday, but what the hey. :P
  1. Garden of Shadows Secret Santa gift. I have no idea what I'm going to make and as I told a few people, I am really nervous about it due to the prestigiousness of the person I have to make for. Should probably try to come up with at least one idea before the end of the week. I definitely need to have the gift completed for the 22nd, because life will be insane in the week following.
  2. Publish Royal Purple chapter 2. I have it written. I just need to shoot the scenes for it. Which requires a whole other to-do list in itself. Not posting it here, wouldn't want to reveal anymore spoilers than I already have. ;) But having that written down somewhere for all to see will make more apt to keep to that commitment.
  3. Finish writing chapter 3. Which is proving to be difficult. If I keep it how it is now, I can throw the whole short story idea out the window - this is going to be a much longer story that I had first anticipated.
  4. Finish reading STHWC. Which has been on my ever-growing to-read list for about a year now. :P (Speaking of which, it's been over a year since I 'returned' to the community. :D ).
And now the real-life stuff )

Hello friends!

I am presently working on ten things at once a short-ish story about Jason and Jodie Larson. As I don't want it to be entirely featuring maxis sims, because that's not really the way I play, I was wondering if anyone had any sims up for grabs I can use as cameos. I know I could use [livejournal.com profile] pixel_trade sims, but I kinda want them to be specifically sims who are/were in the medical or science career tracks in their home games. If you can help me out, please just leave a comment here. I would really appreciate your help!

Hi everyone!

So about a year ago, [livejournal.com profile] remisims started a maxis makeover community, [livejournal.com profile] madeovermaxis. It's been pretty inactive for nearly a year now, but a couple of us have been working behind the scenes to resurrect it. I have posted my makeovers of a handful of Maxis sims over there.

Tonight, [livejournal.com profile] skellington7d, [livejournal.com profile] simcerly, [livejournal.com profile] simtopi and [livejournal.com profile] hooptytrib did some pretty sophisticated sleuthing. I don't know if anyone else has been silently watching the [livejournal.com profile] simsfan13576 dramaz unfold. It's been entertaining me/making me go "WTF?" all week, and tonight the above team exposed him as a sock and a troll. I didn't do anything to contribute to this discovery, but it was fun watching them figure everything out.

For more information, we have compiled a post on [livejournal.com profile] sim_wank. In the words of [livejournal.com profile] simtopi : "this guy deserves the wank."

Because the world needs MOAR clothes for teens. I actually made this especially for Annabeth, because I was having a hard time finding an outfit that suited her. Then I finished the set to upload and share. ;)

Look here, an actual CC download! This like, the second CC I've ever posted! :)

Guess who just learned how to make texture-linked recolours of clothing? That's right!

Huzzah! Now I get to make my entire downloads folder tiny! (in theory :P ).

So when the internet was being a pain in the arse last night, preventing me from writing and uploading my legacy, I worked on getting the previews for these guys taken and edited, as well as getting them packaged. We were having an epic thunderstorm, and so before I could get them posted and uploaded, the power went out and I lost the internet altogether.

In this post, I have the five (or six) sims I made for the March Sim Challenge at GoS, plus the two I made for May/June.

Why are there five (or six)? Because one of them is sort of a "Kids for Diversity" sim (though she wasn't intended to be). I've included the original sim, as well as a slightly edited 'adult version' of her. :P

This was originally a bit of an author's note, but it reads like a proper blog entry, so I'm posting it separately whilst I wait for my photos to upload to photobucket. :P

Self-inflicted rules and explanations therof lie within. )

Okay, I thought I'd post it tonight, but the friggin' internet is being reeeeaaallly slow tonight. Like seriously, it takes 5 seconds for LJ to figure out what to do when I hit 'end'. :P I actually have a day off tomorrow, though I think I'm meant to go to Kitchener or something in the morning, so it will probably have to wait until tomorrow night.

I am an idiot, and I assume everything I install will work first go. I'm not sure if it was the lighting mod I installed, or the CFF fix I attempted to my game recognize Howie's 4 GB of RAM. But one of those two things caused the terrain in my game to flash red, much like it will if your game is running on too poor a graphics card (which mine isn't, because it was working fine with everything on high before I installed those.)

I did restore the backup I made of each of those, and I still had flashy terrain. So I am making a backup of all my game information, downloads, neighbourhoods, everything, and as soon as I get back from my cousin's house tonight, I will have to re-install everything.

Part of my problem is I am running on the recent 'collections' (Best of Business, and University Life) so I start my game using "The Sims 2 Store Edition", whose original .exe is in the "Best of Business-> EP099 -> TSBIN -> EP Launcher." If I don't have a disk in, it asks for me to insert "The Sims 2 University Life Collection" into the CD Drive (I have yet to find a no CD crack that will work for my game), and my loading screen shows "The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff". Yeah, it's confusing. So I may have placed those .exes in the wrong places because I have no idea how my game runs, or from where.

Anyways, the backup is complete, and I need to leave in 20 minutes, but you all know what I'll be doing tonight. ;)

I am really not good at these posts, because there isn't much to write about without going off topic. Which I am an expert of. :P

I literally just graduated Mercedes from college. Puck has a semester left, and I have moved in a placeholder. Which means I need to stop playing and focus on writing/shooting. I have done most of the shooting, there's just a couple of conversational scenes I need to set up. Then I need to write. Because I currently have 7 and a half slides written. :P Go me! I also don't have as much free time this week to work on stuff. :P

Question: Is the college chapter considered the beginning of generation 2, or the end of Generation 1?

It is official. I have fixed the crashing! :) It took three days but it turned out to be a conflict between some file that came with a sim I got from GOS and some outfit I got from GOS and that was causing my game to hate community lots. It's running smoothly now (well, as smooth as a game can with over 4GB of CC) so I should be able to get writing/playing again. I just need to get started with the writing and I should be fine. I wrote a bit of a babble but it felt too, I dunno, impersonal? Like the narration was too distant from the sims to be meaningful. I doubt Chapter 4 will be posted before the end of Cremo, but I am confident that I should at least be able to get Chapter 3 out.

Just a quick post, because I really didn't get alot done today. There was a potluck dinner at the church, and that means four households bring enough food to feed thirty people - so we made a casserole, two salads, a cake and a Jell-o dessert and that ate my afternoon. And yesterday Global played three episodes of Glee practically back to back, so while Grandpa watched that stupid football game that for some reason the world goes crazy for, I was sitting in the sunroom watching Glee on a TV that's 10 years older than I am. :P (Apparently it's the one that I watched Barney on every morning when I was four). And for the record, last night's new episode was the funniest ever! Seriously, zombies playing football and Sue going on a rampage through the school like Godzilla and then Firing Brittany from a Cannon, and of course Tina almost but not quite scoring a touchdown = SO MUCH WIN! But I digress...

So the game is still crashing because it doesn't like something in my downloads folder. I am still searching for what that something is, but I'm not being successful. So I play the business and save constantly, but I still get kicked off every so often and every time I find myself staring at my desktop, I get discouraged and put off opening the game again. :P

Overall, Week One hasn't been the most productive. Hopefully I'll manage to accomplish more next week. :P

Hi all! Hope you're having a great weekend!

Anywho, thanks for reading/looking at all that! :) I should probably go to bed, as it's nearly four am. :O

*Jumps on Bandwagon*

My goal for Cremo is to play and write chapters 3 and 4 of the Gleeks. I know that I want Chapter 3 to be 'the college chapter' but there's also some significant stuff that has to take place plot-wise. I need to figure out how to work that out in the game. Chapter 4 could be anything at this point - it will depend on what the games throws me, but it will most definitely involve the weddings of both kids and the births of Generation three.

My plan is to break the month into four weeks - which the calendar followed by the entire world has already done for me. :P This week I play, next week I write. Update in more or less two weeks. Repeat for chapter four. It works for me because I still don't have a job and thus I still don't have a life.

Also, because of ACR Mercedes and Puck have both gone and fallen in love with dormies, so I can only take them on dates on community lots. But ever since I installed Business Runs You, my game crashed constantly on community lots. I'm thinking I'll have to come up with something like "pull the hack for this" and then "re-install the hack for this", but IDK.

Admittedly, I haven't done anything today - I spent much of the evening trying to figure out why a certain apartment building I had downloaded wasn't keeping it's CC when I moved the CC into a subfolder. Thanks to Jo (Seriously, I owe you my firstborn SimChild or something!) I finally got it working. Now I am downloading more CC because after this month the CRTC (Canadian Radio-Television Telecommunications Commision) is going to make people pay for their internet per download rather than a flat rate, which has Grandpa in a panic. :P Also means that I'll have to stop downloading everything I see. I doubt I'll ever use everything I have in my game right now, anyways. :P
