The Re-install dance.

I am an idiot, and I assume everything I install will work first go. I'm not sure if it was the lighting mod I installed, or the CFF fix I attempted to my game recognize Howie's 4 GB of RAM. But one of those two things caused the terrain in my game to flash red, much like it will if your game is running on too poor a graphics card (which mine isn't, because it was working fine with everything on high before I installed those.)
I did restore the backup I made of each of those, and I still had flashy terrain. So I am making a backup of all my game information, downloads, neighbourhoods, everything, and as soon as I get back from my cousin's house tonight, I will have to re-install everything.
Part of my problem is I am running on the recent 'collections' (Best of Business, and University Life) so I start my game using "The Sims 2 Store Edition", whose original .exe is in the "Best of Business-> EP099 -> TSBIN -> EP Launcher." If I don't have a disk in, it asks for me to insert "The Sims 2 University Life Collection" into the CD Drive (I have yet to find a no CD crack that will work for my game), and my loading screen shows "The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff". Yeah, it's confusing. So I may have placed those .exes in the wrong places because I have no idea how my game runs, or from where.
Anyways, the backup is complete, and I need to leave in 20 minutes, but you all know what I'll be doing tonight. ;)
